ABOUT
Meet Elizabeth Marrin, LMHC
I AM DIFFERENT
I bring an analytical mind along with a healing presence. I am straightforward and real with people, with a warm, caring edge. I provide a supportive, nurturing, nonjudgmental presence using proven treatment modalities.
DIFFERENT TECHNIQUE
I utilize theories from psychology, especially focusing on Erikson, Kohlberg, Vygotsky, Nakkula, Maslow, Kubler-Ross, Freud, Beck, Jung, Gottman, Rogers, Miller and Rollnick, Linehan) in addition to evidence-based therapies (DBT, CBT, relational, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, narrative) and apply them strategically to help my clients.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Early on in therapy, clients can expect to obtain tools and methods for healing, so they can then implement changes. I help people feel supported as they process thoughts and feelings, heal emotional wounds, regulate emotions, eliminate or manage symptoms, discuss root issues, unpack deep truths, develop meaning. and decrease barriers to change. I help people discover "why" things are how they are and how to change.

FOR EXAMPLE
If a client comes in depressed, I can help reverse engineer their symptoms by looking at their history of how it began. Some depression symptoms might be low mood, low energy, low motivation, lack of interest in things you used to enjoy, etc. By exploring the frustrating stuck places, including areas of ambivalence, ruminations, and spiral thinking. I work hard to give people the tools and methods for change. Once clients see what works for them, they begin to speak differently about their struggles.

At Marrin Therapy Works, confidentiality and trust are paramount. Every individual is valued, respected, and supported on their path to mental wellness, with the ultimate goal of fostering personal growth and positive change.
TESTIMONIALS
Elizabeth Marrin is a fabulous therapist. I have followed her work over the past two decades and I can say without hesitation that she is one of the most insightful and sensitive mental health professionals I have known. I've been a therapist, counselor educator, and therapy supervisor in various capacities for the past 30 years. Given my commitments to the field, it is heartening to know there are therapists out there in the world doing this critical work at Elizabeth's level of commitment and talent. Thanks for all you do, Elizabeth!Â
